French toast casserole
This is Lisa’s recipe. Our favorite part is the topping. I have doubled the topping in the past because it is so good
1 loaf (10oz) French bread, cubed
8 eggs
3 c milk
4t sugar
1 t vanilla
3/4 t salt
Topping
2 T butter
3R sugar
2 t cinnamon
Place bread cubes in greased 13 x 9 x 2” baking dish. In mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate eight hours or overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Dark with butter. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the top. Cover and bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes, or until life inserted in center comes out clean. Let’s stand for five minutes before serving.
